First day of clinical is in the books!

Started the day with orientation, learning about the history of the hospital we will be at the next 2 weeks. The most interesting part was the connection between Mary Johnston Hospital and Minnesota - the hospital was founded 117 years ago by a St. Paul, MN native!

We were then split between different departments; internal medicine inpatient and outpatient, the emergency department, surgery, OB/GYN, and pediatrics. Each day we are paired with a different provider, typically medical residents. Everyone has been welcoming (and we even got to see a surprising visitor in the patient rooms- a stray cat running around!).
